Garcia Hernández Sawhney, LLP Partner Norma Nava Franklin will receive an HNBA Top Lawyers Under 40 Award later this year. On February 14, 2018, the HNBA released the list of 33 attorneys selected from across the nation to receive this prestigious award. Norma’s dedication to her career is evidenced by her successes representing corporate, non-profit and governmental entities before federal courts, state courts, state administrative tribunals and Courts of Appeal. In addition to her work, and increasing family responsibilities as she prepares for her second child, Norma continues to serve the Latino community by providing career guidance to young Latina lawyers through the Latina Lawyers Bar Association, and serving as vice-president of For People of Color, Inc., through which she mentors individuals and gives lectures across California on the law school application process and career development.
This award is the most recent honor for Norma, who was recognized as Alumna of the Year by UCLA Law’s La Raza Law Students Association in 2014 and received the Justice Cruz Reynoso Community Service Award from the Mexican American Bar Association in 2015. Both awards recognized her extensive service and commitment to the Latino community.
