Mr. Tyler Rivera is an Associate at Garcia Hernandez Sawhney, LLP’s Glendale office.

While in law school, he primarily gained experience in immigration law. He interned at the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) in Fort Worth, Texas, and at Esperanza Immigrants Rights in Los Angeles. He also participated in UCLA Law’s Immigrant Family Legal Clinic, where he gained experience working with clients seeking asylum from gang-related violence, families seeking refuge from domestic violence, and young adults seeking DACA.

During law school, Mr. Rivera served as the co-chair of the Latinx Law Students Association and as the Chief Managing Editor of the Chicanx-Latinx Law Review. He also worked as a policy fellow with the Mobilization Department of the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute, where he helped the institute collaborate with state actors and community partners. During his undergraduate studies, he worked with the University of Oklahoma’s chapter of Voto Latino to promote Latino voter engagement in the Oklahoma City metro area.
