Congratulations to New Partner, Laura Berzins

San Diego, California – Garcia Hernández Sawhney, LLP is proud to announce the promotion of Laura Berzins to join the ranks of the firm’s partners.

Laura Berzins joined the firm’s San Francisco Bay Area office in February 2020. She joined the firm’s Education Law practice group with a focus on labor negotiations and employment matters, Board governance, school facilities and contracts, and general student issues.

Laura understands the Education sector from the inside out. Not only did Laura earn her J.D. from Cornell Law School and a M.B.A from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University, she also earned her Master’s degree in International Education from the prestigious Teachers College at Columbia University. She received her B.A. in English, with a minor in Education, from Colby College in New England.

I am very excited about assuming my new role as a partner at Garcia Hernandez Sawhney. I am eager to continue working hard as part of a team that is focused on helping our clients and they communities they serve. – Laura Berzins

Laura also has the practical experience to match her comprehensive experience in the field of education. She traveled internationally to India and Denmark to work as a Teacher and Assistant Teacher during college and also worked full-time as a 1st Grade teacher immediately after college.

Laura is out on maternity leave this year after welcoming identical twins! We congratulate Laura and her family and are very much looking forward to welcoming her back in her new role as a GHS Law Partner.
