9th Circuit Strikes Down School Uniform Policy

February 24, 2014

The 9th Circuit struck down a Nevada public school’s uniform policy, applying a strict scrutiny standard (in part because the school slogan “Tomorrow’s Leaders” was on the uniform). If schools require school uniforms, they should be content-free to avoid legal issues and potential First Amendment Free Speech implications. Here’s a link to the National School Board Association’s discussion of the case.
