Nitasha Sawhney Participates in Town Hall on State of Filipino Americans in California

Partner Nitasha Sawhney participated in the first Town Hall hearing on the State of Filipino Americans in California. The town hall was convened by Assembly member Rob Bonta, along with the Asian & Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus and the California Commission on Asian & Pacific Islander American Affairs on October 25, 2013. The hearing focused on health, education, veterans, civic engagement among other issues impacting the Filipino American community in California. The Filipino community is the largest and fastest growing segment of the Asian Pacific Islander Community in California.

Ms. Sawhney serves on the California Commission on Asian Pacific Islander Affairs. Ms. Sawhney was re-appointed to the California Commission on Asian Pacific Islander Affairs in 2010 by Speaker of the Assembly John A. Perez. The Commission is charged with advising the Governor and State legislature on issues impacting the Asian Pacific Islander community in California.
