GHS Participates in Program to Promote Faculty Diversity for Community Colleges

Garcia Hernandez Sawhney, LLP is proud to provide pro bono services for the Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI) spearheaded by Thuy Nguyen, Interim General Counsel for the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. The Initiative included a 3-part Webinar Series focused on Equal Employment Opportunity and Faculty Diversity. The webinar series is part of IEPI’s efforts to promote diversity among faculties throughout California’s community colleges.

Mary T. Hernández serves as legal counsel to school, county and community college districts as well as nonprofit organizations and charter schools throughout California. Her expertise in education law includes issues with limited English proficient and immigrant students, and sexual harassment prevention.

Nitasha Kaur Sawhney specializes in education, labor and employment law. Nitasha serves as legal counsel to public school districts, community college districts, charter schools and other educational institutions.
