April E. Navarro

April E. Navarro is a member of the Firm’s public law, education law and litigation practice groups. Ms. Navarro has substantial experience defending school districts in litigation matters, including handling tort claims, and participating in discovery matters in relation to employee misconduct, sex abuse, premises liability, and other torts. Ms. Navarro’s other experience includes mortgage-backed securities, cyber infringement, trademark violations, contract claims and other complex litigation matters. Ms. Navarro was a post-graduate fellow in the Los Angeles Office of the California Attorney General, Appeals Writs and Trials Section, where she handled state criminal appeals, and had the opportunity to participate in the defense of privacy rights and tort claims while clerking at NBC Universal.

While at Columbia Law School, Ms. Navarro served as the President of the Latino Law Students Association, was on the editorial board of the Journal of Law and the Arts and was a member of the Lawyering in the Digital Age Law Clinic.

Ms. Navarro earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both English and Sociology from the UC Davis, and a J.D. from Columbia Law School. She is Bilingual and Biliterate in Spanish.
